About Us

Jennifer and Kathy bring 50 years of combined experience in mental health to help individuals and families. We founded Healthy Mind Living because we believe in a holistic, neuroscience- informed approach to healing.

We specialize in IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN), a cutting-edge, noninvasive technology that supports your brains natural ability to self-regulate and reset.

When combined with traditional psychotherapy, we see powerful, sustainable results because IASIS MCN helps the body self-regulate.

This integration leads to lasting improvement in:

IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN)

IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback (MCN) is an innovative, non-invasive, and drug-free therapy that uses subtle electrical signals to help the brain reset and self-regulate. It's an advanced form of neurofeedback that is FDA-registered and has been used to help people with a wide range of neurological and mental health conditions. Unlike traditional neurofeedback, which requires conscious effort from the patient, IASIS MCN is a passive process.

  • Non-Invasive: Nothing enters the body.

  • Drug-Free: A natural approach to mental wellness.

  • Rapid Results: Many clients notice a difference within 1-5 sessions.

The Goal: To help your nervous system become more flexible, resilient, and balanced, achieving Calm, Clarity, and lasting Change.

How It Works

The brain communicates through a vast network of neurons using electrical signals known as brainwaves. When the brain is under stress or has experienced trauma, these brainwaves can become “stuck” in dysfunctional patterns, leading to various symptoms. IASIS MCN aims to address this issue.

During a session, a trained practitioner places five lightweight EEG electrodes on specific areas of your head and neck. These electrodes:

  • Read your brainwaves to identify dominant and fixed patterns.

  • Send back a minuscule electrical signal—just 3 picowatts, or three-trillionths of a watt—which is an imperceptible mirror image of your own brainwaves.

This tiny signal causes a temporary fluctuation in the brainwaves, allowing the brain to gently “unstick” and reorganize itself. This process is similar to rebooting a computer, helping the brain to shift from its formerly fixed patterns and restore its ability to self-regulate.

The treatment is not painful or noticeable. The process is entirely passive, so you simply sit still for a brief period while the device works.

Potential Risks & Side Effects

IASIS MCN is considered extremely safe and has minimal side effects. The electrical current used is so low that it is barely perceptible, making it a gentle and non-invasive therapy suitable for adults and children.

On rare occasions, some clients may experience temporary, mild side effects after their first few sessions as their brain begins to reorganize itself. These can include:

  • Feeling tired or lightheaded.

  • A mild headache.

  • A temporary feeling of being "animated" or "wired".

  • Increased reactivity.

These side effects are typically short-lived, lasting only a few minutes to a few hours, and are usually easily managed. There have been no reported cases of individuals being made worse off from IASIS MCN treatment. It is important to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.
